This paper reports our experiments for three TRECVID 2011 tasks: instance search, semantic indexing, and multimedia event detection. For the instance search task, we present three different approaches: (i) Large vocabulary quantization by hierarchical k-means and weighted histogram intersection based ranking metric (ii) Combination of similarities based on Glocal quantization of two set of SIFT...
متن کاملSupervised Learning Approaches for Automatic Structuring of Videos
Automatic interpretation and understanding of videos still remains at the frontier of computer vision. The core challenge is to lift the expressive power of the current visual features (as well as features from other modalities, such as audio or text) to be able to automatically recognize typical video sections, with low temporal saliency yet high semantic expression. Examples of such long even...

In this paper, we describe the system jointly developed by IBM Research and Columbia University for video copy detection and multimedia event detection applied to the TRECVID-2010 video retrieval benchmark. A. Content-Based Copy Detection: The focus of our copy detection system this year was fusing three types of complementary fingerprints: a keyframe-based color correlogram, SIFTogram (bag of ...
